Get to know the MBAA:
The leadership of our association is comprised of dedicated volunteers representing a wide range of roles and expertise within the business aviation industry. These individuals—drawn from flight departments, maintenance teams, OEMs, FBOs, service providers, and support organizations—bring valuable insight, experience, and passion to the work of advancing business aviation.
As volunteers, our leaders commit their time and talent to guide the association’s strategic direction, foster industry collaboration, and ensure our programs and advocacy efforts reflect the evolving needs of our members. Their collective knowledge spans operations, safety, policy, education, and workforce development, positioning the association as a unified voice for business aviation across the region.
Leadership is structured through a Board of Directors and supporting committees, with each leader playing a key role in planning events, developing resources, shaping policy priorities, and mentoring the next generation of aviation professionals. This collaborative, service-driven model is central to the success and sustainability of the association.
The MBAA's Committees:
- Communications - manage social media, website updates, messaging, event photography
- Events - plan events and programming for the MBAA
- Golf - plan the annual golf event: solicit sponsors and golfers, day-of help on course
- Horizons (previously YoPro)- create events and programming for early entrants / young pros in the industry
- Legislative - support the MBAA's efforts and connections with elected officials
- Maintenance - ensure our A&Ps and students are connected and have resources for growth and support
- Membership - ensure we are supporting the current members, and recruiting new members
- Nominating - help identify future board members and officers
- Schedulers - ensure our S&Ds are connected and have resources for growth and support
- Safety- build the MBAA's safety programming, including the annual safety day
- Scholarships - guide programs, and review applications for scholarships
- Winterfest- plan the annual holiday / winter event: solicit sponsors, venue, prizes

Announcing MBAA's Horizons!
Horizons, formerly known as YoPro, is a change in vision for bringing networking, experience, and knowledge to the business aviation community in Minnesota.
We changed the name to embrace everyone’s path to the industry. Whether it be a career they knew they wanted from the start, or one that they didn’t realize until later in life. We welcome everyone from all phases of their aviation journey to come share their experience and also learn from those who may have a different vision or background.
Survey results showed a desire for more social engagement and educational value. Horizons events will contain socially interactive activities and we will be including an educational theme at each event with subject matter experts providing information valuable to those about to go through the same experience or wish to pursue a similar path.
Our mission is simple: expand everyone’s horizons.
